Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian and American musician and singer. She has released more than 20 studio albums. DiFranco's songs are classified as folk or alternative rock. They also incorporate elements of hip-hop, jazz and punk. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as an icon of women's rights and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the first founder in DIY music. She was among the first artists to launch their own labels in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who met while attending in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian descent, and her mother comes from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and sang 32 Flavors. The song was featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995. The song was featured in the soundtrack of the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana on an old slave plantation. She cancelled it however many (including this paper) were not able to sense any regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology just a few weeks later.
